We decided to retire my old Honda Odyssey and get a new 2016 minivan. I was reading some post here how to negotiate, get best quotes, best day of the month and so on. By the way, I am in DFW, TX

Can you guys help me with some questions I have?

1 - I have read some users asking the sales guy the best price he can get in a car or sometimes offering a lower price for the car. For instance, I am looking for the Elite model and the price of this model on the website is $45,900. How much would you guys ask for a better price during the negotiation? Would you guys ask something around $40k or ask for a %? How much is the limit to ask?

2 - Other user suggested to know the invoice price of the car. After a quick search, I found 2016 Odyssey's invoice price: $41,140. So, should I ask for something lower than the invoice price?

3 - I am looking for a 2016 model, so I hope it will be cheaper than the current 2017 models. Does this help to get an extra discount on the price?

4 - Other things that some users said was that they send email to several dealerships asking for the best price. I looked at Honda's dealers and most of then use chats. Did anybody get any luck with those chats?
