Not sure if correct sub or not. My wife recently left her company for many reasons but was certainly not fired. All of her paperwork and the 'Notice to employee as to change in relationship - issued pursuant to provisions of Section 1089 of the California Unemployment Insurance Code' states she was "Laid Off". Our question is if this was done to benefit her in the application of applying for unemployment insurance or did they do it out of spite or some other negative reason. Again apologies if this is the wrong sub.
