Just found out about this sub and thought some people might be interested. I've been pretty loose with my money but have managed to save 12k on a 43k a year job in under a year. Not super impressive but is better than what the majority of my friends are doing at 24.

Basically, I have 2 accounts set up within my Internet banking. All the money stays in one, and my card and PayPal can access the other. This means that every time I want to buy something, I have to manually transfer the money myself and watch my balance drop. This is not a nice thing to see.

Just by doing that you become so much more conscious of your money, I've got 12k left after Christmas and buying a fancy new TV, not to mention buying food, drinks and weed every week and the typical rent and bills that everyone pays. My goal for the end of 2017 is to hit the 25k mark. I've just had and pay rise so it's seeming more reachable than ever!
