So I decided to set up a checkup with an in network doctor close to my new house. I wanted to establish care with this office while I was healthy so if I got sick they'd already have my information and insurance.

It lasted 20 minutes. Blood pressure, height, weight, no biggie. Two weeks later I get a bill for $200. They did not code it as a preventative checkup therefore my coinsurance did not cover any of it. Called the office and asked if they could revise the code. No dice. Apparently the preventative wellness checks have a specific checklist that goes on your chart.

Tl;dr make sure you specifically ask for a preventative wellness check when scheduling a routine check up. It'll save you $200
