I divorced about 6 years ago. Since divorcing, I have gotten several raises, promotions, got my savings up to over $300,000 plus $ for my daughter's college (she's 15, I am responsible for 30% of her college, per the divorce agreement, I have $41,000 saved). HOWEVER, every year, I devise a plan to take advantage of my 401K, max out my IRA, etc but then I have no mental energy to analyze what to do. I currently have most of the $ with a broker and that earned only 7% last year (after his fees). I need to fine tune my investing skills and plan better (and possibly ditch the broker). Where do I start? I read FAQ but I want to know if there is a course? I haven't screwed things up (no debt either and I own my $500,000 condo) but I need to improve. (And I think taking this next step really freaks me out.)
