I just bought a 97 civic with about 200k miles. Got it checked out, it's been really well maintained where a lot of the parts under the hood are new or still in good shape.

Rear brakes need to be changed, they're drum brakes and it's winter so I'll probably cough up the money for a shop to fix them (about $200). I desperately need 2 new tires but I can get those brand new for $50 a piece including installation.

After that, where do I draw the line? I was carless for months and managed to get by with taxis and rides so it won't be terrible if my car breaks down, but I'd also love for this car to last another 100k.
