Whenever I hear "simple living", the paintings of Peter Ilsted appear in front of my eyes. I think that he was the master of picturing the essence of simple life. These half empty rooms, sun light and little glimpses of lifes lived by ordinary people. And it's not really the objects in the paintings or the lack of them that gives this special feeling in his paintings.
