My tax situation is extremely messed up and I could really use some advice on how I need to go about filing my income. Some basic information about my situation is:
-Washington Resident -Dependent -Graduated in December -Renting/living in Oregon (College was in Oregon) -Work history for 2016 ($ made is Gross)... *Worked for University for about 5 months (roughly $1000) *Side work at Country Club in Washington(roughly $300) *Intern in Oregon for about 4 months (roughly $4000) *Contractor working for company in Oregon but contract agency is located elsewhere and am paid by agency (roughly $6200)
The rotten part is that I wasn't given any paperwork for taxes when I started my contracting so FIT wasn't taken out.
Do contract workers file taxes differently? Since I am a Washington resident but made almost all my money in Oregon, how should I file my taxes? Also, how much might I have to pay back in taxes because nothing was taken out for my contracting job?
