I started reading this sub a few weeks ago since I'm just entering the professional world and wanted to start out on a good foot. Since then, I've made a lot of changes in my personal life.

-Cut rent from 1100 to 900 by signing a lease further from center of town.

-Cut phone bill from 120 to 45 by swapping providers

-Applied and got a new $2k credit card which raised my credit about 40 points instantly

-Acquired a plan of attack for negotiating the salary at my job up an additional $10k, to be put into action tomorrow.

-Set up autopay on all my student loans for the minimum Balance and plan to put an extra $1300 toward the highest interest amount each month.

-Set my 401k contribution up to 4% to get full employer matching.

-Opened a savings account with Ally for my emergency fund and a "rainy day fund" at my mom's CU with 2.5% interest for a future house or car purchase. Initial contributions are set at 300 to the EF and 50 to the rainy day fund. Once the emergency fund is set at 6 months expenses, I'll up the contribution on my rainy day fund to the monthly max.

This plan will allow me to be debt free in ~4 years, potentially even less if I am able to successfully negotiate my salary higher. Thanks PF!
