My grocery budget has started to creep up over the years, mostly from me switching to a more fresh food based diet (most of the coupon-ing and stuff I do is for shelf stable items).
I checked the frugal wiki page for "food" but most of what came up was meal plans. I do not need help with meal plans, or how to avoid impulse buys. I need tips for conveniently reducing costs on fresh food I am going to purchase.
I did Grocery Game years ago, and saved a bunch but it ultimately lead to me eating pretty unhealthy (I try to buy mostly fresh stuff now, except for rice/pasta, etc.). I am currently in a rural area and do not have bulk stores and the closest grocery store is Publix. There is a farmer's market, but I'd have to take leave from work to shop there due to its hours. Amazon Pantry and Vitacost and similar sites are obviously more geared to shelf stable items.
What are some websites or resources you all use to cut your fresh food (dairy, meat, produce, etc.) grocery costs?
