If you like Darn Tough and they work for you, keep doing what you're doing and ignore this thread.
But if Darn Tough did not fit you well, was not as comfortable as expected, etc, order icebreaker merinos. For my foot, they fit way better and way more comfortable. I have wider feet, and Darn Tough fit awfully with extra material sticking out on the toe. It was also less comfortable than expected.
Icebreaker merino did it for me. In addition, they not only offer a lifetime guarantee, but a better one than Darn Tough. DT only replaces your socks. Icebreaker Merino will exchange or REFUND you with original proof of purchase. So in case you don't like them or don't pan out, they're willing to put the cash back in your hands.
This was my experience and I hope it helps someone else out who wasn't enamoured with Darn Tough. These things are so comfortable on my feet I don't even want to take them off.
Additional bonus: nicer designs than DT in my opinion, and no overbranding. DT has their logo prominently displayed on the socks -- top of the socks and at the toe -- Icebreaker only has them on the foot on the bottom side. As someone who prefers a more timeless item, no branding is a huge bonus.
