Our grocery budget (in London) is around £400, which we often exceed by £200 pounds or more..We are spending way too much on food and i am trying to cut down on our groceries expenses but i am struggling with it which is due several reasons:
- we eat too much meat and cheese.
i think EVERYONE is eating too much meat anyways.. my mom ate meat once a week, that was the post war generation and people didnt have more back then and meat was considered a luxury. now i often eat meat twice a day which is way too much for my body and for the environment to handle so this needs to be cut down drastically.
-
we dont like to eat too much carbs, so meat and veg comes naturally compared to rice and pasta..
-
i like grand dishes like Moussaka or Osso Bucco, instead of a simple veg stir fry..
So i am trying to incorporate more vegatarian into the mix, however i often struggle because the veg dishes often have a taste-disadvantage, something is simply missing...
Additionally most veg dishes are not exciting enough for me to cook, the ones i know are usually simple and relatively fast.
But i am sure i just need inspiration and experienced guidance to improve my veg dishes, question therefore is: what are you most favourite VEG dishes you have in your constant roation?
