My parents shot me an offer last week that Im seriously contemplating. They want me to move back home so I can save money, atleast enough to buy a house.
Backstory: I currently live in an apartment paying $1800 monthly. My parent's are arguing with me that it is a waste of money and I should move back home. However, the problem lies my 2 cats. My parents are the more traditional type family that hates animals. Of course, I know once I bring them home they'll grow to love them, but they have really expensive furniture.
They're the type of parents who have $7000 couches and hire a maid 2-3 times a week and hate dust. They said I can bring my 2 cats with me but knowing my cats they will fuck up literally every single piece of furniture at my parents. I have cheap furnitutre so I don't mind but I don't want to ruin my parents.
However their offer is pretty sound. Suffer for 2-3 years and save up enough for a down payment for my OWN house. However, my cats will have no freedom, I will always be scared what they'll ruin, and how the house will be. (and they currently have fleas...)
One option is to move back home and have my cats 100% ruin my parents expensive furniture.
Option two is to continue to spend $1800 and hopefully increase my income with my online business.
Option three is to NGAF and thug life life. (I obviously ran out of options :) )
Option four ? Giving up the cats is not an option.
edit: keeping the cats outside is not an option as we have coyotes in our neighboorhood.
