Hey there,

I'm 18 and I recently started my journey in investing my money. (That's the first time I actually use it. I've got 2k in savings.)

I bought some US stocks but I was wondering this morning: As the Euro is now way down compared to 3 years ago (it was at like 1.5USD for 1EUR, now it's almost 1-1) will I lose money during the conversion of my stocks back to EUR if the EUR/USD forex market goes back up again where it was before? Does it mean I can't buy US index funds or stocks? I was thinking about investing in a Vanguard index fund that tracks the S&P 500 or something of the kind, because I have no knowledge of any other good funds here in Belgium and I trust the American economy a lot more than mine to be honest.

Not only do I have to inquire about what stock I'm purchasing but also about the state of the conversion between EUR and USD when investing in the us markets?

I've read some books on investing and I'm quite knowledgable in the field, I'm playing it really safe for now but I have no idea about the forex market. What is the euro going to do in the short/middle/long term?

Thank you for your answers and have a good evening !
