I have always wondered what exactly is the cheapest way to light a home/apartment. Are electric lights the best we can do? They seem to burn out so frequently and I understand that lightbulb companies have an incentive to make bulbs that will eventually burn out to keep customers coming back. I'm curious as to whether using some kind of oil lamps or candles for light at night would come out to be significantly cheaper than common lightbulbs, or if there are better, longer lasting bulbs on the market. Any ideas?
