I'm curious about the situation I'm in with my boyfriend. He has lived with me in my apartment (both of us are on the lease) but has not contributed anything in over a year. He is supposed to have a job and pay his way, but that's a fight for another day (again). Since I've paid all of his living expenses entirely, is he considered a dependent on my taxes and am I a head of household in that case? If so, does that complicate a future break-up in terms of common-law marriage or anything like that in WA?
