Hey there, friends! So I've been a long-time believer in hand-me-downs, and my family is big enough that I've stayed happily afloat in semi-fashionable clothing for most of my 20s. I recently left an office job for grad school, and my last pair of blue jeans has ripped. I'd like to buy a new pair, but I want to buy a new pair that's timeless and will last me a few years. What brands should I watch for sales? Should I skip brands all-together, and wait for Target or Walmart to have a super sale on their excess?

I'm not opposed to going to second-hand stores, but I thought that I may get more mileage out of a new pair. I also haven't bought new jeans for myself since 2010.

TL:DR; at what price point do you stop rewarding quality and just buy the cheapest pair of jeans? what brands give the best mileage for the best price?
