I found a little way around it too to get even more of a discount from American Apparel. There's a website (well it started as an app, but on the website you can get cash back with ebates) called shopspring.com which is basically a distributor for other companies, so they sell stuff for big shops like saks, neimans, and american apparel! The AA items on the website are already marked 40%, and they also do a deal for first time shoppers/members to get $20 off a purchase of $75 or more, and it combines with the 40% off! I think they also have an active 20% off code for a first time purchase for new buyers which I'm not 100% sure if it combines with the $20 off, but you can try! I would try but I am not a first time buyer so it won't work. Code is VANISH.
I actually had a 20% off connected to my account already (it was some anniversary gift, I've had my account for a year), and ebates was 18% cashback (it's now only 8%, wom wom), so I ended up getting 4 items which would've been $225 on the AA website (yes, this was with the 40% off, I got some of their more pricey items) for only $170, plus I got $38 in cash back... Sooo thats another option if people are interested?
For the $20 off $75 you need a referral link so I can help with that if ya need, however I see I can't post here, but it is part of the deal :P If people don't want any sort of referral then you can probably just get the 20% off as your first purchase and not worry about the $20.
