Calibre is to ebooks what iTunes is to MP3s. It organizes corrects meta tags, coverts etc. Free and open source.

Overdrive is a service for libraries (ask at your local branch) that lets you borrow for free from any internet connection (even your home) books you want to read. (just use your library card or sign up through your library.)
Gen 4 and Gen 5 don't have touch screen, no back light etc. On the plus side mine last literally for 1 month with 2 hours of reading a night on average. (My back-light one lasts 2-2.5 weeks)
