My dad has just informed me that he owes 50k in CC debt and is considering bankruptcy.
He said he only had around 10k for a while and didn't think much of it but he lost his job a few months ago and the amount he owed rose rapidly.
He says if he can get another job in his field in the next month or two he should be able to pay off the debt within a year but he's worried about the job market and not being able to find a job paying as much.
He already owns a car and a house so it's not like he's going to need his credit for anything anytime soon but I'm not sure if bankruptcy is the best option.
