Been in apartment for 3 years, going on 4. Good relationship with landlord. Always paid with check but landlord recently asked to start paying via Venmo or Zelle.
For this month, I texted her asking for their venmo name. They responded "ok. venmo will charge you a fee", I responded "I'm fine to pay the fee" (meaning if venmo charged me a fee, which it didn't). Because me landlord did instant transfer to their bank account it ended up charging them $25.
They have since asked for the $25. Am I on the hook for the fee? I get I said I would cover the fee but that is if the fee was from my end. I suppose it could be an debate of interruption but don't know if this is a hill worth dying on.
