If the stock market has never bottomed prior to a recession then why do people think October of last year was the bottom?

So I am hearing ALOT of talk that the market bottomed October 2022, and that the recession is going to happen but has not happened yet. Well history says the stock market will get worse then last year. So question is, why would anyone be bullish now ?

“This time is different” is a very dangerous thing.
