Accidentally flooded a hotel room while on business travel. Ran the sink with a bar of soap in it and fell asleep. It was a slow trickle but enough hours went by to dump a good amount of water on the floor. I woke up to a welfare check. I don’t think any adjacent rooms were damaged but the water did run down to the level below. The room was located on the second floor. The hotel front office said they’d be in touch with me. What kind of liability should I expect and how long might it be before they reach out? Located in California.
