I currently own Vanguard VWUAX fund and its current market value is $48,844. It's total unrealized loss is at -12% or -$6,800 and I would like to sell it to cut my losses as it's a terribly managed fund.

If I sell all my lots which is all long-term except one short term, do I still have to pay capital gains tax on lots with gains which would increase my loss to more than $6,800?

Or does it lump-sum as a whole for that fund when I sell it all at a loss and no capital gains taxes need to be paid?

Thanks for any help and advice!
