I want to be able to walk away from monitoring market activity everyday without missing out on stocks that dip into being undervalued or my positions gaining into being overvalued. I have yet to find a tool that'll do this well so I'm considering building it myself (and making it available to the public).

Here’s what I’m thinking: 1. Smart reports* (Email, WhatsApp) that focus on your held and watchlist stocks that are seeing significant movements. Will also highlight potential bargains outside of your picks, if you want.

The goal here is to keep your fingers on the pulse of movements in the market w/ minimal noise.

1. A daily report summarizing all movements, if there’s movement. No significant movement, no email, no noise.
2. Using fundamentals, points out potential bargain stocks and overvalued positions, both amongst your picks and in the market in general.
3. Notifies you of upcoming earnings statements.
  1. Real-time SMS alerts for especially large movements throughout the day in order to be the first to know about an event. This ultimately allows for more time to assess the situation.

  2. Stocks listed on reports have a link to a single page for users to quickly assess next steps

    1. Compare a given stock's fundamentals to comparable stocks
    2. See most recent news items to quickly gauge the reason for the movement

*What makes these reports “smart”? A few ideas not noted thus far: 1. If a stock sees a significant movement, the report will include that stock for the next few days even if it has stabilized — I’d like to see what it’s doing.

  1. Points out if a stock’s movement is correlated or independent of other stocks (e.g. the entire industry in moving).

Would be great to hear suggestions — I see a lot of space for notifications to be smarter.

Please comment if this sounds like something you’d like to use, if you have suggestions, or if you think this is terribly off the mark.
