As the title says my wife was laid off last week (she is a contractor and has worked for this employer for years) along with a couple of her co workers. We don’t necessarily need additional money to survive but it would leave a large dent in our ability to save for the house we are trying to buy soon. Are there any major down sides to collecting unemployment as far as her records are concerned? Should we file for her unemployment as she looks for a new job?
