I had a weekend away which proved unexpectedly expensive, much more shopping and drinking than I had planned and I'm in my (thankfully 0%) overdraft until payday at the end of the month.

While waiting at the station for my train home I knew I'd need something to eat, but UK station food is really expensive! Luckily I remembered I had Too Good To Go on my phone and paid £4 for 2 huge pasties and a croissant from a bakery. I only needed one of the pasties so I've had breakfast and something for lunch today as well. I asked for a cup at Starbucks and filled it at a water fountain for a free drink. Probably the cheapest food I'd find in that situation.

I've got lots of shifts in my retail job coming up and I'll probably take snacks and food from home instead of buying food there as I often do. I'm lucky to be living with my family who only charge me some rent, and they cover all food at home and other bills.

It's little things and it's not going to undo the expenses - but at least it's changing the negative momentum I've got at the moment.
