Well holy smokes! My mom gave me, my husband, and two kids a $25 gift card to the movie theatre in our stockings for Christmas. We have a ten year old son with high functioning autism and because of his autism he gets OBSESSED with certain subjects and things. He has been OBSESSING about seeing the movie since he first found out about it. It’s been almost a year now! He knows the names of all the people voicing the characters and also the name of the person who voices Mario on the games!! He also knows so many little tidbits and facts most ppl wouldn’t know about it. To say he’s excited about it is an understatement. When we received that gift we knew exactly what we would use those gift cards for and saved them until now!

Where we live you absolutely need to reserve tickets especially if the movie is new and ESPECIALLY since we wanted to do it for something fun on Easter. As we were looking we saw they have it in 3D! We figured since we do have the gift cards, since we NEVER do movies anymore, and it’s a holiday that we’d go for 3D. Y’all, we got four tickets, one for a ten year year old discounted for his age… a large pop and popcorn because again it’s a special occasion and nothing beats movie theater popcorn 🤤 it was $99.40 TOTAL. Oh my GOSH. I know it’s 3D but it still seem so high! We wanted to get two popcorns and pop so we could share between me and my husband and then have the kids share one! I really hope they do the one free refill thing at this theatre. We got the biggest just for the hope that they do that!

How can people afford to do things like this anymore?! Honestly, I feel bad for my son! When my daughter was younger we did museum, movies, zoos, etc all the time! It also helped that we lived in Minnesota too because their free public parks, free splash pads, and free zoo are AMAZING. In Alabama I haven’t found even one free splash pads and the public parks are meh. We at least have some pretty hiking parks that have beautiful hiking trails and little waterfalls though. Also this is one of the only states that taxes groceries fully! That really stings because Minnesota does not tax clothes or groceries at all! We also made SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. Back then we thought that people who make the income we do now were set! Money just doesn’t stretch like it used to! We make way too much to be this broke!

On a positive note my mom killed it with that gift. It was a two for one holiday gift! We got to have the fun opening it on Christmas and get to do something really fun on Easter!
