I like everything about Darn Tough, especially the lifetime warranty. The idea of having socks for life after you buy them once is great. I just can't stand wearing the socks though. At shoe size 10.5, I'm squarely in the "size L" category. I tried recently larges, returned them, and tried XL's. For some reason, they're all so tight around my skinny ankles! Within half an hour, I've got indents on my skin, and they're so tight it's itchy and uncomfortable. It feels fine around the foot, but the ankles are so tight, even in the XL's. So the DT's are going back for good this time, it's just not for me.
Do you guys know of any other merino wool sock companies that also have a similar thing going on with the lifetime warranty? I know there's other companies like DT, but I'm not sure which, if any, let you replace worn out socks for free. At prices in the area of $20-30 per pair, the lifetime warranty would be a must for me (and a more standard fit).
I honestly don't know how anyone can wear DT's. They fit normal around the foot, but are very tight around the ankle. The XL sizes didn't seem any looser. I'm on the skinny side, so I just don't understand it.
