In January our gas furnace went out (was from 1998) and we needed one. Called up a company and they came out and sold us on a 2 stage furnace saying that we would get $600 rebate when we file taxes. Total unit cost was about $7k.
After looking into it, it looks like in order to qualify it needs an AFUE >= 97%. The one that was installed was AFUE 96.1%. So we do not qualify, and I feel like the guy lied to our face to upsell us.
They have a 1 year no questions asked return policy where they will come out and rip everything out and refund us. I am thinking of using this and actually getting a >= 97% AFUE from another company.
Thoughts?
