Most of the discussion here is about saving money in smaller areas. Buy store-brand food to save $1. Eat out less. Get a 10%-off coupon, etc.

Kinda penny-wise, but It could take just 1 error in a major purchase to literally negate the hundreds of smaller decisions you've made.

Every coupon and discount you ever found could be thrown out the window if you buy the wrong car (or overpay for a car), rent/buy the wrong home, pick the wrong college degree to study, investing in the wrong things, etc. I feel like those areas should receive the most attention

Thoughts? And tips on those larger aspects of life?
