I (35f) quit my job to be a SAHM during the pandemic, and I currently have two children under 2 years old. I had life insurance as a work perk so I lost it when I quit, and my husband and I were going to buy life insurance for me by the end of this year. I was just shocked with a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer. I am panicking now that I will leave my family nothing. I know I will not be eligible for a policy that I think is worth buying.

My husband had a job that will allow him to financially care for our children no problem, and he has a solid life insurance policy, but I wish I could leave them something for when they become adults.

If I have $1000-2000 a month to put away for them, what’s the best option? I’m hoping to be around for a while longer (hooray for modern medicine), but in case I’m not, I want to leave my children something from me.
