Freeze tomato paste in a cane. Open both ends and punch out the paste. Wrap the frozen paste in foil and freeze, slice off what you need as you need it.
Found this tip off of myfridgefood.com . I have been needing a tip like this. Paste in a tube is ridiculously expensive.
