Hello!
I have been regularly investing my savings into ETFs for about 2 years now. My choice was few different Vanguard ETFs. Since I'm from EU, opening an US Vanguard account was not possible and EU Vanguard has much higher costs (EU equivalent S&P500 has 0,8% expense ratio compared to 0,03% of VOO).
To go around this issue, I have been using eToro as my trading platform and buying Vanguard ETFs there. Now I figured out through ToS that all my positions on eToro are considered CFD!! I was shocked and now I'm scared. I don't have any leverage or similar, but I am still not sure this is a good long term investment approach (I don't have much knowledge on CFDs as I was never interested in short term risky trades).
So, my question is:
a) From investment and growth perspective, is there any real difference between ETF and un-leveraged CFD? Should I move my investment somewhere else?
b) Can someone recommend a broker/bank/whatever in EU where I could move my savings to and invest into ETF or passive funds without huge costs?
Thank you all in advance, any help is highly appreciated.
