I'm 16 and got my first job about 4 months ago, as of right now I've made about 3.4k. My dad had this huge fit about how I need to make less because I need to file for and get income taxed when I make over 4k, when I'm pretty sure it has to be over 12k. My sister (18) got her first job about a month ago so she works as well. Our household size is 4, he doesn't want to make over 36k for medicaid, since he's diabetic but refuses to make changes to his diet so he takes a lot of meds. What should I do? I want to continue working so I can save up money to move out as soon as possible when I turn 18, I can't stand being with this family any longer. Working and making money was my first taste of freedom and I don't want it taken away.
