I wanted to get my nephew a Nintendo Switch a couple years ago. That's when they were sold out and resellers were flipping them. Since games aren't exclusive to the new system for the first year or 2. I bought a used WII U w/ a bunch of games for about $100 and now got a used Nintendo switch with games for about $200.
With PS5 still always being sold out, I was just curious is there any real benefit to getting the newest system?
I think being frugal would just be the best bet. (This is coming from the mind of a non-gamer who is wondering what is the perspective of a frugal minded person who is also a gamer.)
Edit:
Thank you everyone really enjoyed hearing everyone's reasons. It was a great conversation!
