Hi all! Today I took my beater car (2004, Mitsubishi Outlander, 150thousand+ miles) for a break check. Turns out I do need new breaks, BUT turns out I also need a new bearing for one of the wheels + breaks+ new battery (current one from 2010), + new starter. Obviously car is paid off & insurance is super cheap. I've been wanting to get an electric car or at the very least a hybrid (for environmental reasons more than gas prices) for a very long time but have been putting it off because of the uncertainty of our current times. Anyway, I have about $20Gs saved up & make about $30/hrs. Would it be a smarter investment to get the repairs done or just put that money towards a new car?
