I am a college student who was born without six adult teeth. I currently still have four baby teeth in my mouth. My mom (48) also still has four baby teeth but they grew in normally and haven’t given her any issues. Two of mine were impacted, two ankylosed, and the last two are like my mom’s. Holding on. When i had braces the first time we learned that I would need six implants. That’s going to be 36k+ of dental work just so I can be normal and have all my teeth :/: its not like i didnt take care of them or it’s my fault so it’s even more frustrating. I already have to pay hundreds of dollars to see. I recently found a clinical trial for a biomedtech company “confirming” the safety and efficacy of their implants. I did some research and they were already tested previously for five years. I would get implants placed for free and the crowns as well. Idk if they’ll do all six but even just getting one for free will help. The ringer is that one of the locations for the study (its international) is the dental college at my own university, headed by faculty there. So i feel like i can trust it. They seem to be superior implants based on previous trial with clinically lower incidence of bone loss and inflammation . I emailed to inquire about participating. I would like some opinions from those who are familiar with clinical trials, dental work, or major health decisions on if I’m being naiive in thinking this could be a great opportunity. Is it too risky?
