I have been working at my company for almost 10 years and have received very little in way of salary increases. My company compensates all employees with a salary and also with bonuses based on project performance.

I have only received 2 salary increases in the almost 10 years I have worked here.

And though my yearly take home has rose over the years due to these bonuses I recently found out a new lower level employee has a higher annual salary then me by almost 10%. I am training this new employee and am well aware they do not have the same knowledge base and skill set as I do.

I have asked how to grow and improve my base salary during my last few years performance reviews with no feedback from upper management. ( no constructive criticism was even provided)

What are your thoughts on how I shall handle this. Should I ask for a raise and state I am aware of this employees higher salary?(the information is required for project cost analysis so someone had to know that I would find out)

I’m stuck, I like my job and am fearful of trying to switch companies with the current geopolitical affairs and possible pending recession. However, it is hard to be loyal when I feel My company is not as loyal to me as I am to them.

Thanks,
