I am not a mechanic so I would pay a random mechanic whatever this would cost. My car is 14 Fusion with 198,000 miles. It needs a purge valve and a battery. The ignition cylinder locked up and the key won't turn to start the car. The wheel freely moves. A jump supplied power to windows, radio but key won't turn so it's a broke ignition or worse. When I drive the car periodically the ABS warning light flashes and steering becomes stiff. This happens if I go over a rough spot on the road. It lasts 15 seconds. I just ignore it for the most part but not sure if its indicative of a larger problem.
Do these issues seem like they are small enough to fix cheaply or is the cost going to exceed the value of the car? Also is a old car worth fixing anyway? Fix? Sell?
