We recently got a new dog. So we have two that I get to take out back a few times every night. We live out in the country so cars and traffic are not a big deal but the dogs do not stick together and in the dark with a flashlight it got to being really hard keeping an eye on both of them when they go running off in the fields.
Walmart to the rescue! For a buck (only in the stores, in the camping section) Walmart has little headlight flashlights. They have an elastic band that has those double loop gizmos for sizing them, and it was easy to adjust them so they fit around our big dogs head and the the small dogs neck. You need to make a little tape loop to keep the light from tilting out. The light can tilt when it is on your head so it can point from straight out to down in front of you.
The dogs have grown to love them. As soon as they see me grab them they get all excited because they know it is going to be a good run out back, and I can see them a long ways away with their lights on. It is really fun to see the lights go running off in different directions one minute and chase after each other then next.
