Unity is acquiring Weta, a leading digital visual effects company. Their tools will be a part of the Unity creator suite. Very exciting stuff.

They created visual effects for Lord of the Rings and the biggest Marvel movies, to name a few.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygAsQxDtXic

Q3 earnings

  • Solid quarter. Stocks dropped in the premarket, which is reasonable, the price was at an all time high.

  • Q3 revenue up 43% year-over-year, exceeding expectations; company raises guidance. Still operating at a 6c loss per share.

  • They continue to heavily invest into the future and creating a lock-in effect with their customer base. Lots of acquisitions and more R&D expenditure.

Bottom line:

They're building a substantial ecosystem and are well positioned as a top player for some of the biggest buzzwords of the next decade, the metaverse, gaming, augmented- and virtual reality.

Current price is high considering fundamentals. But in my opinion, it's still being slept on. I have a gut feeling this will become a hype stock within 2-3 years, so I'll continue to buy.

I'd personally be very happy with buying below $120. But I think ~$135 is probably a more reasonable entry point in the next 12 months.
