Is anyone out there frugal in large part because it gives you independence and the ability to avoid asking friends or families for favors?

I love the feeling of freedom that being frugal provides! 🥰 I see many people in my life maintain some very negative or neutral relationships with others because they feel like they are unable to be self sufficient due to poor money management. It looks exhausting.
