It was in an at-fault accident at the parking lot. We scratched the other party's car by accident. It was a minor scratch. We exchanged numbers and other info. We decided to go with the insurance (Auto-owner) instead of paying out-of-pock so We gave the other party our insurance info. In this case, should we notify our insurance company or should we let the other party to file the claim? I am worry that if they file the claim before I notify our insurer, they will deny the claim and we will have to pay out-of-pocket. How many days do we have to file the claim to be considered not too late?

If for some reasons the other party forget about it or not make the claim but we actually tell our auto insurance company, will we have the record or will our future premium be possibly increased? How many days do they have to file the claim?
