I was an international student in the US that recently graduated.
Yesterday I received a medical bill issued by the laboratory for a treatment in July when my insurance was still valid. However, the statement date that they're billing me is in September. My insurance expired in August.
What steps do I take to solve this? I do not have knowledge on how US healthcare works so I am afraid that this will have an effect on my credit score down the line if I do not pay the bill which is due in 8 days.
EDIT: I checked my claims on the insurance website. I paid my co-pay to the provider in August. The bill is issued by the laboratory.
