Grandmother is moving in and wants a landline, or at least something that looks like one. I'm trying to figure out how to get a VoIP setup so as not to pay an extra monthly bill. Could use a pointer if you all have had the same need.

It's not that she wants a landline per se, but she wants a old-fashioned solid-looking phone that isn't a mobile.

She'll be living downstairs, and the router is upstairs. My first thought was to use a google voice number routed to a VoIP phone from Amazon, but to be perfectly honest I'm not sure how to set that up.
