I am a single mom, and just bought my house. I'm in debt of $7k (credit). Since buying my house I am just getting by each month. I have a good job, but for the last year my boss has been sending me to school to get my degree. Since the school started I have had to stop my side haul (I'm a textile maker on the side and some months I'd bring in an extra $500+). When I was renting, my expenses were way less, and I was able to make school work, but now I'm worried that if I continue with school (3 more years), I will be struggling and not have an emergency fund for if anything goes wrong. And it's making me nervous. Is it crazy/unreasonable/irresponsible of me to ask my boss to postpone my schooling until I have a better financial situation?
