I’m exploring ways to clip our grocery budget to pay my credit cards down. We do eat out sometimes but honestly I don’t go to expensive places and we enjoy that and I’d rather just eat cheaper at home than sacrifice experiences. The bakery outlet is easier to figure out because not much of that food has been out very long. I think once in a while I want to drive to the salvage store to try to see what I can find that I feel comfortable eating close to or right after the “best buy”/sell by date. for instance I’d be okay with pasta, peanut butter, and some things like that.
Anyone have any good resources for this, or tips about what lasts a long time after? I probably will only go to the salvage store once a month or so because it’s about 40 minutes out, so it would need to be enough to save the gas money. (Fortunately I work from home so my gas costs are little to none now.)
