Hi guys,

I have been in the market for a new job for a little while, and given the openings in the US, that has heated up recently. I am currently in various stages of interviews with 5 different companies.

Yesterday, I received a call from one of these companies, and they have decided to skip a step in the interview process and make an offer. It is for roughly the same amount I make now ($500 difference), is closer to home than my current job. Right now they are remote, but will go back into the office full time in the next few months.

Here is my dilemma. I have a 4th and final interview scheduled for June 25 for my absolute dream job. I am about 60/40 on my confidence about getting this job. Its fully remote, a step up instead of laterally, and where I ultimately want to be.

I am absolutely miserable at my current job, and absolutely want out. But I don't want to just jump for the sake of jumping. While the offered job is a move, its not a step up. Would I be able to stick it out for a year or two if I don't get my dream job? Yes. Do I see myself there long term? Likely not.

Is it a dick move to accept this offer and then go back on that if I get my dream job? I know people do it, but I am having a hard time reconciling that with how I was raised (your word is your word).
