This is probably veering into frugality vs cheap territory but I'll give it a go. The obvious answer to this question would probably be to find inexpensive shelving at a thrift store or from neighbors. We've tried that and unfortunately those things are so old and heavy that we cannot get them up the stairs to our tiny apartment. We also tried building some Ikea shelves but that stressed my partner to the point of no return and the suggestion of trying again just leads to tears. We cannot afford a building service nor a rental truck to move things so I'm trying to fix this issue by using the space available in the backseat of my hatchback. Are there any other sturdy alternatives that we could try?
